What makes Nurse Jane Products better?

Nurse Jane Medicinals grows our own Cannabis in small batches, focusing on quality over yield. After spending several years in the licensed Cannabis market in Michigan, it is a verifiable fact that Michigan produces a lot of recreational, cheap marijuana but very little quality medicine. 85% of all Michigan cannabis flower is being remediated due to failed testing. Commercial, large scale cannabis is not quality. Large scale commercial growers focus on turn around time and maximizing profit for their investors. All Nurse Jane products are grown and processed locally. We start by selecting strain-specific genetics that are known to produce a more medicinal experience. We grow our plants to maturity in a stress-free, organic environment. We do not use pesticides or herbicides. We only use distilled water and organic nutrients for our indoor hydroponic plants. Our sun-grown plants are grown in organic living soil, which produces a plant rich in natural terpenes and cannabinoids. Terpenes are the smell and taste of most living plants. Different terpene profiles in a cannabis plant have a significant impact on the medicinal value of the plant. By using a whole plant extract and reintroducing specific cannabinoids in proprietary ratios, we believe we achieve a highly medicinal product utilizing a complete “Entourage Effect”.

What is the Entourage Effect?

The entourage effect is a concept within cannabis research that describes how the various compounds in the cannabis plant work together to produce a range of effects that may be greater than the sum of their individual parts. This theory suggests that cannabinoids, terpenes, and other phytochemicals interact synergistically to influence the therapeutic and psychoactive outcomes of cannabis use.

Cannabis contains over 100 known cannabinoids, with THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol) being the most well-studied. While these compounds have their own distinct effects-THC being psychoactive and CBD being non-intoxicating entourage effect proposes that their impact is enhanced when combined with other cannabinoids and the plant’s aromatic molecules known as terpenes. Terpenes like myrcene, limonene, and linalool contribute not only to the plant’s fragrance but also to its therapeutic properties, potentially affecting mood, pain perception, and inflammation.

Researchers believe that the entourage effect may explain why whole-plant or full-spectrum cannabis extracts often appear to provide broader therapeutic benefits compared to isolated cannabinoids. For instance, some studies suggest that CBD may temper the anxiety-inducing effects of THC, while certain terpenes could enhance relaxation or focus depending on their unique profiles.
